Irwin Redlener has devoted his adult life to meeting the health and other critical needs of disadvantaged children. He’s a physician and the founder, with the singer Paul Simon, of the Children’s Health Fund, which has a fleet of fully-equipped mobile medical vans which bring health services to children who in many cases, would otherwise have to do without. Dr. Redlener has now written a compelling memoir called “The Future of Us: What the Dreams of Children Mean for Twenty-First Century America" and he joins Bob to discuss what he has learned over his storied career of working with children in need and how we can help the future generations of this country.
