This month, Study With the Best looks at CUNY stories involving New York’s greatest natural resource: water. CUNY’s Science and Resilience Institute at Jamaica Bay aims to bring all the stakeholders of the bay together into one unified and protective voice. The Maritime Tech program at Kingsborough Community College teaches many of the captains and mates seen in New York’s boats. Steve Duncan, a graduate of Hunter College, delves into the sewers and underground water infrastructure under our feet. And Newton Creek, one of the country’s most polluted waterways, is slowly being improved upon with the help of a group out of LaGuardia Community College.
