The pivotal broadcast, which aired on CBS Evening News with Walter Cronkite, helped change America's view of the war and altered war reporting forever. The report even elicited an incendiary call from President Lyndon Johnson to CBS president Dr. Frank Stanton. In the second part of the program, journalist Richard Hottelet recounts his four-month internment in a German prison while covering the outbreak of World War II for United Press International.
