First aired: May 10, 2021.This episode of UP CLOSE presents Phases and the In-Betweens, an artwork by Brothers Sick, Yo-Yo Lin and danilo machado that ran on The Shed’s website from January 13 to February 11th, 2021. The piece consisted of looping video and an animated frame that changed five times throughout the month to correspond to the phases of the moon; a reflection on the phased reopening of New York State. The work is presented in this episode as an archival version that combines all five iterations into one animated background.
