This week on This Is America & The World, Dennis Wholey travels to the Kingdom of Morocco in North Africa. To understand Moroccan culture and history Dennis turns to the rich religious traditions of the country by visiting a variety of sites that speak to the interdependence of different faiths all contributing to the rich culture of Morocco. An interview with Ahmed Toufiq, Minister of Islamic Affairs of the Kingdom of Morocco, and a visit to the Mohammed VI Institute for Training Imams articulates the role of Islam throughout the country. In addition, The Museum of Moroccan Judaism in Casablanca communicates the integral presence of Judaism’s history in Morocco and a visit to St. Peter's Cathedral in Rabat touches on the Christian presence within the country. Those of each faith live as neighbors in peace and harmony within the wonderfully unique culture of Morocco.
